The Miami Dolphins have brought back one of their most consistent players, Andrew Van Ginkel. The outside linebacker/special teamer signed a one-year deal to remain in Miami.

Van Ginkel was drafted by the Dolphins in the fifth round of the 2019 draft and has shown constant improvement throughout his young career. Van Ginkel is a jack of all trades, as he excels heavily in both special teams and defense. Van Ginkel is the type of player coaches love to have because he is the perfect example of a selfless player that will do anything asked of him if it helps the team win.

As for Miami, this is a tremendous moment for the team as Van Ginkel was offered multi-year contracts by multiple teams – including the Raiders and Miami rivals the Patriots. Rather than heading out of Miami to play with one of those squads, Van Ginkel stays where he’s been since his rookie year. With Miami getting better, he has a way better chance of competing for a championship with the Dolphins. Van Ginkel will also have more eyes on him because the Dolphins are in multiple nationally televised games next season.

Per source, Andrew Van Ginkel's intention is to re-sign with Miami barring last-minute snag, as @Jason_Sarney noted. They're working on a deal. Per source, Fangio reached out to him, told him they would like him back. He visited NE and spoke to Las Vegas.

Van Ginkel has 181 tackles, 38 QB hits, 11 sacks, and two fumble recoveries for 78 yards and a touchdown so far in his career. Van Ginkel is one of multiple Dolphins pass rushers expected back as long-time Charger Melvin Ingram will likely re-up with Miami very soon.

This signing is excellent for both sides as Miami keeps one of their own, and Van Ginkel stays with the team with which he has grown.
