Adele might be the Queen of the UK Album Chart this week, but Justin Bieber is the undisputed King of the Singles Chart – he not only equals a feat last achieved 30 years ago but has also set a new chart record of his own.

“Sorry” is spending a second week at No. 1 whilst album track “Love Yourself” moves up a spot to No. 2 – the last time an artist held the Top 2 spots simultaneously on the Official Singles Chart was in 1985, when Madonna was at No.1 with “Into the Groove” and also at No.2 with “Holiday”.

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Justin’s former No. 1 “What Do You Mean?” has climbed a place from No. 5 to No. 4 – making him the first artist in UK chart history to have 3 songs in the Top 4 whilst also holding the No.1 and No. 2 spots.

This is the second record that Justin has set with tracks from Purpose. Last week he saw 8 of the album’s tracks chart in Top 40 – the most simultaneous entries from a living artist. The album itself is also continuing to perform well, dropping just one place this week to No. 3.
